Breaking News: FG Releases Seized Ekiti Budget Support Fund

The Federal Ministry of Finance has released the N1.1 billion Budget Support Fund of Ekiti State it seized about two weeks ago. 

Governor Ayodele Fayose disclosed this, yesterday, in Ado Ekiti. 

His Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, quoted the governor as saying that the Federal Ministry of Finance had communicated with state officials on the release of the money. “I don’t want to join issues with anybody on the allocation, it is a statutory allocation for all the states, I can confirm to you here that by Tuesday next week, I will get the bank alert for the money, an official communication on the release was passed to me on Thursday,” the Governor said. 

Ayodele Fayose The state government and officials of the Federal Ministry of Finance had been at logger heads over the non-release of the money. 

The money had been paid into the account of the state, penultimate Thursday, but withdrawn a day later for reasons not disclosed. 

The development led to Fayose going to the headquarters of the ministry in Abuja to officially protest the action. 

A statement by the ministry said the money was withheld because the state did not fulfill some obligations, a claim promptly denied by the state government. 

In a swift reaction, the Governor , who spoke through one of his aides, Mr Lere Olayinka, said the explanation was an afterthought meant to mislead the public.

2016 Budget Defense - Chris Ngige Collapses

The last may not have been heard concerning this Nigeria's 2016 Budget which the National Assembly has described as being "riddled with errors"

The sitting Minister of Labour - Senator Chris Ngige while defending the Budget Proposal of his Ministry today collapsed.

He has since been rushed to the Hospital but the immediate cause of his collapse has not been stated.

It would be remembered that the Minister of Health had earlier last week told the Defense Panel that his Ministry's Budget proposals were invaded by rats

We hope it is not the pungent odour emanating from the document that sent Senator Chris Ngige into a fainting spell

We wish him quick recovery

Concerning Nigeria's 2016 Budget - Rats Deny The Allegation

When he appeared before the Senate Committee on Health to defend his Ministry's Budget Proposals for 2016, the Honorable Minister of Health was quoted as exclaiming that "rats had invaded the Budget documents, because what he was seeing was not what he submitted .."

In a swift reaction to the allegation, one rat has come out boldly to state that the Minister's allegation was not channeled to the right direction

Of The N433.4 Billion Earmarked For Fashiola, South East Gets ONLY N2.9 Billion

A Daily Trust analysis has revealed that of the N433.3 Billion total sum for the Capital Projects of the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing and its Agencies, a paltry sum of N2.9 Billion is earmarked for the South East Geopolitical Zone of the Federation ( the much touted 5% Zone)

"The Southwest geo-political zone has got the largest share of N88.7 billion for major projects in the 2016 proposed budget for the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing, a Daily Trust analysis has revealed.

The ministry has N433.4 billion total sum for the capital projects of the ministry and some agencies under it".

"The North-West has the second largest allocation of N30.1 billion; 

North-Central, N29 billion; 

South-South, N22.5 billion; 

North-East has N9.4 billion.

This is surely not in the best interest of the Nation
