Ladies and Gentlemen

Here comes the First Lady of the United States of America - Melania Trump

Uwuma Precious, a vexing Nigerian writes:

Let's put it bluntly: basically all young medical doctors would leave for the US, Canada, Australia and the UK were passing the licensing exams in those places easy. The reverse is also true: these countries are picking out the best brains from Nigeria yearly!

Go to the hospitals these doctors are expected to ply their trade, check their renumerations and you would want to help them leave self.

Yes, these doctors don't love Nigeria less, they just love themselves as much as President Buhari and all past Nigerian Presidents and their idiotic supporters love themselves too.

They want to be in London too so they too can have access to treating our Presidents!

Now seriously, come to think of it, which human being with brains will take men like Buhari and Osinbajo seriously enough to believe that they have their best interests at heart?

One has been in London for months now getting the grade of medical attention he does not care to provide for his people and also wasting loads of  the same funds that could have gone into equipping hospitals here on parking a plane for months unend, while the other, a supposed pastor is urging the same Nigerians left to seek treatment in shitholes with no electricity, not enough dialysis, MRI and X-ray machines to carter for 1/10th of the patients they admit and, dammit no oxygen too, to pray for the recovery of his principal who is already in the best hands! What can be more exasperating?

Nigeria is a lie. Nigerians are ghosts. They exist only to themselves and never to those who vowed to make the  "security and welfare of the people the primary purpose of govt".

It takes a nonexistent manifestation,  an inverterate idiot, a fool of inestimable proportions to having been to government hospitals and seen the dumpsites these places are and how to have liver or kidney problems in Nigeria and not have access to TB Joshua or funds for immediate evacuation to Europe, India or America, to still come to Facebook and type MAY BUHARI SUCCEED.  Thunder faya your wicked foolishness there!

The same Buhari that contested severally and should have been ready to fix simple things like a few hospitals around Abuja? The same Buhari who couldn't pay for his nomination form but now spends millions for parking space in one local council in the UK?

So while husbands have to pay for fuel to power generators in  labour wards of government hospitals so their wives can go into labour, while patients pay for disposable gloves, needles and syringes and still end up with abysmal medical attention President Buhari is actively contributing billions of naira to help one local council in the UK provide the best medical services for its citizens and you are here telling me MAY BUHARI SUCCEED, succeed at what exactly, making my life more miserable? You are under a spell. Lightening will join your thunder and roast you if you come here to tell me or even think in your prurient mind I am intolerant to dissenting views. Intolerance kee you there!

May your generations have kidney, liver, brain and heart problems and may their only options be government hospitals, maybe then you will know how your prayers for the President are insults on those Nigerians dying in loads in government hospitals; maybe you will come to realize how wicked it is for those saddled with the task of providing power, hospitals and water to enjoy all these at our expense while providing nothing -even in the midst of trillions of naira at their diposal!

Raji Fashola has manufactured more lies, excuses than a primary 5pupil who can't help not having her name on the Noise Makers list everyday!

Since making these excuse, how many nights have the Fasholas passed in Nigeria without electricity?

Since you can't grow sense and begin to seriously interrogate how and why a bunch of con artists will hold us all to ransom while pretending to have our best interests at heart, then your thunder shouldn't kill you, it should strike one side of your head first, turn you into a vegetable, then kill you after 7weeks!

Ehen, shebi you like suffering?..

In a landmark judgment delivered this morning, the Supreme Court has declared  Senator Makarfi's group as authentic faction of the PDP and thereby dislodging Ali Modu Sheriff who got a favourable judgment from the Appeal Court from the PDP topmost Chair.

The five man panel of the apex court led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, in its judgment delivered reinstated Makarfi who was earlier sacked by the Port Harcourt Division of the Court of Appeal, as the National Caretaker Committee.

Details shortly!!!!!

Written by:  Tai Emeka Obasi

Last month, precisely on June 10(how can I ever forget any big event on my birthday?), the most sophisticated and intelligent criminal since Independent Nigeria was nabbed in Lagos, precisely at his residence in Magodo Estate.

I became instantly interested. As a writer who revels in the Thriller genre, Evans provided every index of a bestselling novel. And, of course, a blockbuster movie. Two days later I got a call from an unknown number that turned out one of my numerous clients in the Nollywood industry. He was interested in a script the activities of Evans. Next day another called, interested in scripting same subject. Less than 24 hours later a third called.

I ended up settling with the first caller…not necessarily on first-call-first-served basis but rather that the first producer convinced me he would not spare resources in producing the movie exactly the way I’d script it. I warned him it’d take me one month to script as I was still researching and studying everything about the Nnewi-born kidnap kingpin.

Yes, Nnewi-born. Evans real name, Chukwudi Chukwudumeje Onwuamadike, hails from Umudim, Nnewi…Umudim and my own Nza, Ozubulu have common boundary. Of course I didn’t use the name Nnewi in my script…I know much better than that but let me say this in writing once more - I’m proud, very proud of my own town Ozubulu but there’s one town that I respect more than any other town in Africa.
That town is Nnewi.

There’s something about any origin of Nnewi…he’s ever competing in whatever he does. He strives to be the best in any endeavor. When the cliché, ‘’Warri no dey carry last’’came out, I laughed. Nnewi is the only town I know that doesn’t carry last in any endeavor. In fact, you’d always see him amongst the firsts. Any Nnewi man or woman is ever smart…some mistake it for selfishness…term it anything but it boils down to the fact he’s ever a fierce competitor in any endeavor he/she undertakes.

If you’re into business and want to prosper, follow the footsteps of the Nnewi man. He may not willingly teach you if you’re not truly from Nnewi town but you have to be smart to learn from him without going for his advice. But most people, instead of bending to learn from the bests, end up wallowing in envy. Instead of respecting the ingenuity of one God has abundantly blessed ends up scandalizing such successes with mundane insinuations. Stand up and salute the Nnewi man anywhere you are. God has made him a genius. Any Nnewi man anywhere that is not successful should blame himself for failing to discover the hidden talent God willingly endowed him with.

Was there any richer businessman in West Africa than Sir Louis Ojukwu? Was there any more courageous Igbo man that could have led Biafra than his own son, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu? Was there any better transporter than Ekene Dili Chukwu? What about Chikason, Cosharis, Ibeto, Innoson, Capital Oil? Were there many Finance ministers more respected than Dr. Chu Okongwu? Is there any clearing and forwarding agent bigger than Denca Services? What about Nwafor Orizu? Examples are legion. But what gladdens the heart more than any other is when one takes a trip to the town. Nnewi should be the most indigenous industrialised town in West Africa…all set up by sons of the town.

So when I was researching and studying the activities of Evans, I discovered that the super intelligent man only applied the Nnewi brain wrongly. The press didn’t tell us half of Evans’ ingenuity. The Police do not want the public to know exactly what they went through before subduing and arresting the kingpin.

Any day ACP Abba Kyari opens up on the real intelligence and counter-intelligence tussle involved in the Evans debacle, Nigerians will wow.

For security purposes yes, but I suspect for something much more incriminating, the public are being fed with kindergarten stuff.

The quality of security information that flew to Evans is not possible without coming from some dubious few in the very top of handling our security affairs. The way Evans managed funds and conveniently handled his ransoms in foreign currencies was not possible without some astute assistance from dubious bankers. The way Evans managed to stay off electronic tracking even though he smartly used Thuraya and Vertu phones was not possible without collaboration with some bad eggs deep in the technical departments of GSM network providers. I noticed inconsistent tales while carrying out my investigations but I was very careful with scripting. I wouldn’t want Censors’ Board withholding my producer’s work when done.

There are many other tales that didn’t add up …why would a sixth-sense-operating brain like Evans go for Amaka even when he was certain she was being used as bait? The police didn’t want the public to know exactly why Evans went to his mistress’ house that early June 10 morning. As a writer I know better and made educated guesses.

Though Evans script took up all my energy in a month of researching and scripting it was interestingly challenging. I may have written one of my best five scripts ever. If the producer lives up to his promises of producing the work as written, spending enough funds to capture the intentions and succinctly deliver them on screen, I’d say watch out!
But besides all these entertainment prospects, what do we take home from Evans?

I have no doubt the kidnap president would have effectively competed with the likes of Innoson if the secondary school dropout hadn’t veered off into negativity. But what would have been Evans’ positive ingenuity was destroyed by a broken marriage. If both parents had withered their differences and stayed together, given their son enough education and put him on the right path, they’d today be enjoying the fruits from a multi-billionaire in any genuine business endeavour.

Evans is a case study on why marriages should resist break-ups and even when it becomes absolutely inevitable, a woman should be very careful while insisting on taking her male child/ren and bringing him/them up on her own. That is exactly how Evans got his freedom to dive into crime – from a mother who wanted to prove to him that she cared more than the father and hence failed to use that cane where necessary.

OSINBAJO AND THE QUAGMIRE OF POWER STRUGGLE
- By Remi Oyeyemi
July 6, 2017

Osinbajo heads a government in which he cannot get anything done.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is in a serious quagmire. But unfortunately, he is oblivious to any of it. Even if he is not, he has no tools to help himself. His fish, it seems, has no water on its back.

The ongoing war in Abuja for power is emblematic of the nature and character of the Nigerian state that hopefully would lead to the Nunc Dimittis of a tragedy called a country. As events continue to unfold, those still acting like ostriches, shouting ONE NIGERIA, would have some education and have their eyes opened.

For those theorists who see this from the prism of class war dialectics alone, they are about to be educated on the dynamics of a modern feudalism that hold others in bondage and subjugation. They are about to be tutored on a refined, retooled and modernized apartheid system. They are about to be schooled on the real meanings of second- and third-class citizenship in a contraption euphemized as a country.

The Attorney General of the Federation Mr. Abubakar Malami, has just warned the Vice President that he (the Vice President) couldn't speak for the presidency and that the Vice President is "on his own." This came up after the Vice President returned "fire for fire" to the National Assembly seeking to remove him.

The importance of the warning given by Malami to Vice President Osinbajo is that in the Executive Arm of the Government in Aso Rock, the Vice President has no support. It means he is just being tolerated. It means he is an outsider in a government he leads. It means he is just a decoration. It means he is just a toothless bulldog, if he could be called a bulldog at all.

If you doubt this, ask, how many other members of the Cabinet have come out to support the Vice President publicly? How many of them have come out to call Malami to order? Certainly, they are not all deaf and blind. But because they all know where power truly resides, they have kept mum waiting for Osinbajo to be roasted. Yes, they know that power does not reside with Osinbajo and they don't care if Osinbajo is hanged.

Not only that, under Osinbajo's nose, even ordinary Garba Shehu describes VP Osinbajo utterances as "unofficial" and "personal" view of his. He suggested that any opinion expressed by Osinbajo is nothing but his own and not representative of the Government or the Presidency in which he is the so called Acting President. Even, as a so called "Coordinator", such a disgrace should not be meted out to the Pastor.

The hapless Vice President seems to just carry on as if nothing is amiss. He is canvassing for a ONE NIGERIA where he is already a second-class citizen in power. His case is akin to that of a slave begging and pleading for the recalibration, reinforcement and reconsolidation of the vestiges and veneers of his enslavement and subjugation; a case of an unthinking happy slave. Americans call his likes "house slaves."

Yes, he is in power but does not have the balls to exercise the power. He dares not. He is so powerless that an ordinary spokesperson can call his bluff. He has no wherewithal to exercise any power. He heads a cabinet to which he cannot give instruction. He heads a cabinet in which he is treated with disdain and open disrespect as well as disregard. As they twit, taunt and toss him around, he twitches and twirls like a fish in the throes of dehydration.

Osinbajo heads a government in which he cannot get anything done. He heads a government in which his words are mere cacophony; meaningless, worthless and useless. He enjoys no one's confidence in the leadership. He is a lone, rudderless, tired and ridiculed wolf surrounded by anxious and rapacious tigers in competition to enthusiastically devour him.

This obviously is sensed by the Senate led by Bukola Saraki who has never hidden his contempt for the Vice President he once referred to as "ordinary commissioner."  Saraki never had any respect for Osinbajo.

He loathes him intensely and with unfathomable severity. He sees Osinbajo as the "ajélè" of Bola Tinubu, with whom he is in rivalry. He is determined to bring him down at the right moment. Whether Saraki would succeed in this or not, time would tell.

Let us put my dislike for Saraki aside and all his vices hanged aside for a moment so that the reality be examined honestly. Saraki is truly in charge of the Senate. His support is solid. His men are united, savvy, and combative. They are committed to each other. His men believe in him and he believes in them. He protects them. They protect him. Loyalty to Saraki cuts across party lines in the Senate. He is as solid as the Rock of Gibraltar.

In the wings for Senator Saraki is the Lower House under the leadership of Yakubu Dogara. Solid, united, determined and consistent in their opposition to any move by Tinubuists. And they have demonstrated without any scintilla of doubt that they would not tolerate any kind of infantile radicalism. They are waiting for an auspicious moment to oust Osinbajo. This is in addition to some silent power elites in the North, especially among the Hausa Fulani whose political wisdom begin with fear of Tinubu, who because of his own morbid ambition, made himself a dispensable tool of enslavement and subjugation of his Yoruba people.

Some of us may not like this because we loathe Saraki, but this is the reality. The Buharideens and the Buharists in Yoruba land may not like this but this is the truth. The Jagabbanians or Tinubuists may hate this but this is a fact. The APC faithfuls and party hacks in the Southwest may detest this but it is the reality. Saraki is in control of that Senate. The earlier they realize this, the better for them so they can figure out their next move.

Vice President Osinbajo himself seems not to be aware. Or if he is aware, he does not care. And if he cares, he has no tools to fight for himself. He has limited or no support. His supporters are in the minority. His supporters, when they overstep their allotted boundaries, get suspended at will and nothing has happened. Or would happen.

Meanwhile, the so called "Cabal", from whence originated the idea of a "Coordinator" are silently waiting for the right moment to oust the unwary, naive, smart but non-analytical Vice President. He has been suspected and hated from Day One when he was locked out of the security meeting about a country of which he was the Vice President and now the Acting President.

Osinbajo refused to pay attention. He refused to heed warnings then as he is refusing now. He is acting like his mentor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and allowing morbid ambition to drive his thinking, his planning, his responses and his approach. He is not thinking about the fate that might befall Yoruba Nation when these falling chips land. He wants to be in power at all costs, even when he is deemed not good enough as a messenger by the INHERITORS of the Nigerian power. He refuses to see the handwriting on the wall. He is not able to fathom that he is fussing over the corpse of a dead country.

Applying the Marxian dialectics to the Nigerian tragedy as an analytic tool is a great misapplication to an enormously misunderstood situation. The subsisting struggle in Nigeria today is not about the rich and the poor or between the haves and the have-nots. Rather, it is about the contest of applied philosophical world views.

It is about those who treasure the reverence and desirability for human dignity for all and those who do not. It is about those who believe in equality of man as a creature and those who do not. It is about those who believe in equitable justice for all and those who do not. It is about those who believe in human family, not cronyism, and those who do not. It is about those who believe that human lives have more value than those of cows and those who do not.

There is a culture that lays not undue emphasis on materialism and the one that does. There is a culture which ensures your dignity, your self and personal respect even when you are poor and the one that does not. There is a culture that takes accountability seriously and the one that does not. This is the crux of the matter. This is the kernel of the issue. This is the heart of the contest. This is the why of the struggle. This is the theme of the clarion call.

For the honest, sincere but naive purveyors of UNITY of Nigeria in the hills and valleys of Yoruba Nation;  for the untutored die hard believers in ONE NIGERIA swimming in the streams and rivers of  Oòduà land; for the misguided and miseducated latter day Nigerian nationalists acting out Henry Kissinger's concept of "patriotism" as being "the last refuge of scoundrels" among the sons and daughters of Oòduà land, it is time to wake up and smell the coffee.

It is time to think beyond politics and unite in action and purpose for our people, our future, our freedom and our independence. This is more serious and important than the ephemeral politics of APC, PDP, Labour, KOWA, CPC, AC, ADM, PDM or whatever. We are first and foremost Yoruba before anything else. This is about the survival of our race. This is about our survival and dignity as a people. This is about our pride as inheritors of great culture and traditions. This is about us as a people with proud History.

It is time to stop planting corn on the rock. It is time to stop chasing shadows. It is time to stop  chasing power that could not be used or benefit our people. It is time to wise up and free yourselves mentally. It is time to think of our past and put our future in perspective. It is time to think of our children and the next generation. It is time to be free. It is time to go home to Oòduà Nation.

The Yoruba do not belong in Nigeria. We belong to our own Nation.

The pictures here were taken after a heavy downpour and shows how stagnant water has built up into a "river" where people can now go and swim and fish and do other activities

They were taken from the road connecting Ikenegbu extension/Mcc road to Egbu road (Relief Market road). in Owerri, the Imo State Capital that once in history got the award of the "Cleanest Capital in Nigeria"

Judgment shall come
