This time it is the husband of Khloe Khardashian

Pro basketball player Lamar Odom reportedly remains on life support after a series of strokes, as it emerged he spent $75,000 on his four-day visit to a Las Vegas brothel.

Lamar Odom Showing Few Signs Of Improvement

The estranged husband of Khloe Kardashian is in a critical condition after being found unconscious at the Love Ranch on Tuesday.

There has been no official comment on the 35-year-old's health but police have described it as possibly being the result of a drug-related medical episode.

Meanwhile, his wife and the owner of brothel, Dennis Hof, have had heated exchanges over media attention as dozens of reporters stake out the Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center.

Kardashian's representatives have asked Mr Hof not to speak to the press.

But he said he is troubled by the lack of communication from the reality TV star, and dismissed her representative's request that she do interviews instead of him. She has so far issued no public statements.

"I know what happened," Mr Hof said. "I'm the one protecting my business and telling the truth about it."

Kardashian's representative said they politely asked Mr Hof to respect their privacy.

People magazine, citing a source close to the family, said Kardashian was given the task of making medical decisions about Odom's treatment but was "overwhelmed" by the unexpected responsibility.

"She had been thinking of him as an ex, so to find out that, 'No, you have to do this,' well that's really hard for her," the magazine quoted the source as saying.

Kardashian's mother, Kris Jenner, posted a photo of Odom in his Lakers uniform on her Instagram account, asking fans to "please pray for Lamar #ourfighter."

Love Ranch spokesman Richard Hunter said Odom scheduled his brothel visit a week in advance and it was his first ever visit.

He allegedly chose two women to accompany him. Under Nevada law, prostitutes negotiate services and prices privately with customers as independent contractors. Mr Hof gets 50%.

Odom spent about $75,000 for a minimum four-day stay, Mr Hof said.

The site has a five-day maximum policy, but the owner said the sportsman talked about staying the entire week to celebrate Mr Hof's recent birthday.

When he got to the brothel, Odom told at least one of the women he had done a "small amount of cocaine" that day, Mr Hunter said.

He added Odom knew the brothel has a strict anti-drugs policy, and the only drugs anyone there saw him take were herbal sexual performance enhancement capsules.

Mr Hunter couldn't rule out the possibility that Odom used other substances.

"The only way that's possible is if no one knew it and he had it completely to himself," Mr Hunter said.

Currently a free agent, Odom last played for the Los Angeles Clippers during the 2012-2013 season and is no longer attached to any NBA team.

An American Airlines pilot has died after falling ill on board an overnight flight from Phoenix to Boston.
Airline spokeswoman Michelle Mohr told Sky News that Flight 550 was diverted to Syracuse, New York, on Monday morning after the pilot suddenly "became ill".
The flight's first officer requested an emergency landing and safely landed the plane, which was carrying 147 passengers, after telling the control tower in Syracuse: "American 550. Medical emergency. Captain is incapacitated."
He also expresses concern as to whether medics could get to the aircraft quickly in a recording of his exchange with the air traffic control tower.
The pilot has been identified as 57-year-old Captain Michael Johnston, who lived in West Jordan, Utah.
Passengers on the flight were told the pilot was unwell and it was making an emergency landing. They were told later of his death.
His widow, Betty Jean Johnston, said she had been informed he is thought to have died from a heart attack.
She said he had double heart bypass surgery in 2006 and was in good health.
She told CBS affiliate KUTV: "He has had problems with his heart. He seemed perfectly fine.
"We've all been together, just comforting each other, it's kind of surreal. You just feel numb, it's not real.
"He's a pilot, he leaves Sunday night he doesn't get back until Wednesday, it just feels like he's on his trip.
"The coroner has called me, he said it was 99.9% positive it was a heart attack."
American Airlines group chairman and chief executive Doug Parker said the crew "took extraordinary care" of Mr Johnston and the passengers during an "extremely difficult time".
A statement from the Texas-based airline said: "All of us at American extend our condolences to Mike's wife, Betty Jean, and to his entire family.
"They have lost a husband and father, and many of you have lost a personal friend."
A replacement crew was sent to Syracuse and the aircraft, an Airbus A320, landed in Boston later on Monday night.
Airline pilots must pass physical exams every 12 months, and every six months for captains above the age of 40.

Seven pilots for US airlines and one charter pilot have died during flights since 1994, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

Hillary Rodham Clinton wins endorsement of National Education Association

Hillary Rodham Clinton was endorsed Saturday by the National Education Association, the nation's largest labor union, giving her campaign a boost in an increasingly competitive Democratic primary race.

With 3 million members, the NEA's support will help Clinton in her primary bid against Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who has galvanized liberal Democrats and announced this week he had raised nearly as much money as Clinton during the past three months.
"We chose Hillary Clinton because she chose kids. She's had kids in her heart from pre-school to graduate school," said NEA president Lily Eskelsen Garcia in a phone interview. She said Clinton addressed the 175-member NEA board on Saturday for more than an hour, answering questions about testing, special education and college affordability.
Many rank-and-file union members have backed Sanders and pressured labor leaders not to endorse Clinton with four months remaining before the first contests in Iowa and New Hampshire.
Eskelsen Garcia said 75 percent of the union's board supported Clinton and the union felt it could have more influence by endorsing during the primaries. The NEA declined to issue an endorsement in the 2008 primaries, waiting until Barack Obama secured the Democratic nomination to offer support.
Clinton has outlined plans to bolster early childhood education by creating a universal pre-K system and boosting money for Head Start education programs. Thanking the union, Clinton said in a statement she would "ensure that teachers always have a voice and a seat at the table."
Sanders did not address the NEA board but, like Clinton and former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley, was interviewed by Eskelsen Garcia, submitted a questionnaire and recorded a video statement that aired during the union's summer convention.
Sanders said in a statement he was proud to have the support of "many hundreds of thousands" of NEA members and trade unionists across the nation.
The former secretary of state has been endorsed by eight labor unions, accounting for about 7 million members, including both of the nation's teachers' unions. The American Federation of Teachers was the first labor union to endorse Clinton, during the summer.
