Greta Gerwig and director boyfriend Noah Baumbach introduced their new comedy “Mistress America” at Sunshine Landmark on Wednesday.
The movie focuses on a 30-year-old who befriends a college freshman who just moved to New York.
Gerwig said that when she first moved to the city, “I used to take the subway to a neighborhood I didn’t know and try and walk back without a map. And this was before smartphones, so I just got lost all the time.”
Later, guests including Salman Rushdie, Tavi Gevinson and Jemima Kirke, whose sister Lola is in the movie, headed to the Boom Boom Room.
