As Bayelsians Wait

Information reaching us has it that the not so Independent National Electoral Commission of Nigeria has declared as inconclusive the ongoing Gubernatorial elections in Bayelsa State which started on Saturday 5th December 2015 and continued until late night yesterday 6th December 2015.

The reason cited by the not so Independent National Electoral Commission is the massive rigging, snatching of ballot boxes, arson and killing that heralded the elections in the largest Local Government Area in Bayelsa State - the Southern Ijaw LGA.

It was reported that thugs and other seeming security staff brought into the State on the eve of the election caused mayhem in Southern Ijaw with a view to causing confusion and rigging the elections in the process.

However, of the 7 Local Government Areas so far declared, Mr. Dickson of the PDP who is also the incumbent Governor is said to be leading in 6 LGAs while Mr. Sylva of the APC is leading in 1 LGA.

A rerun election in the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area is being awaited at a date yet to be announced by the not so Independent National Electoral Commission.
